I don't think I put the strongest shot on
the blog. I took a couple of shots two days ago. Maybe this one's cuter than the other below. You be the judge.
Halloween's my favorite
because it's a great chance to wear a costume. I look a lot like my Portuguese grandmother Cidalia (who has passed on) in this picture.
Here's some pics from a fabulous party that took place in Wainscott, NY!

It's time for another picture of Schuldig
The puppy's growing and he's being such a good little dog.

My toe dip into celebrity photography
did not work. The guy I was working for was one of those-
Nothing's ever good enough
guys.
After doing hard work on spec. he'd brow beat me with endless questions that had no answer.
"Why didn't you get this? Where were you? I don't understand. Why weren't they looking at you? I don't understand. I just don't understand. Explain it to me."
If I asked a question, well, then maybe I just don't know what I'm doing.
The passive aggressive-aggressive thing does not jibe well with The Tanster. I'm looking forward to a long future of not dealing with that guy.

I had the great privilege of working for zoto.com
That sounds kind of brown noser but I was really well treated. That's big news in my book.
You need the link below to see pics from the Blogon Event at the Copacabana in NYC. It's not clickable for some reason. If you don't mind, could you cut and paste it on the bar on top?

A presenter was discussing the different kinds of blogs. I think this blog would fit under the category "cat blog", like "this is what my cat ate today . . ." Please let me know if that makes no sense.
Now my Bacon number is 1
This excites me because I was once very proficient in:
Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon
I'm not the biggest movie lover but it was obvious that I could connect any actor to Kevin Bacon fairly easily. That was back when I knew most of the actors who were in JFK. Alas, these days my memory isn't what it used to be.

I got to meet Steve Hall, blogger extraordinaire
at the Blogon conference in NYC.
http://www.adrants.com
He is in a wonderful position to satirize and analyze advertising during the massive overhaul that's going on in our "culture". You could see how scared corporations are at the conference.

This kid is a break dancer
Later on, to the music, he kept dropping down on the ground doing the worm and stuff.
I've been working for DJ impresario
Robert Ditta. His company is Above and Beyond Disk Jockeys.

He really knows what he's doing.

I got into Napoleon because of the wonderful
art that he commissioned.
David
Ingres
Gerard
and Isabey
are painters that made Napoleon and his times accessible.
This painting is the work of Jacques Louis David, the official court painter of Napoleon. This painting was done before (or during?) the French Revolution. It's at the Metropolitan in New York. When I'm there I can't take my eyes off it.
There is a special Nova running on PBS about Einstein's Theory of Relativity. It contains a section about Lavoisier so that's really interesting for me. This man was killed in the Revolution. Ironically David was behind a lot of the killing. After that, David championed Napoleon. I guess that's what it took to survive back then.

I'm selling this tank setup (29 gallons) for $50.
My cousin Vicky has a rental property in Hampton Bays. Her tenant disappeared and left this behind. The setup is like new.

These porcupine puffers were at the aquarium.
They were patrolling the top of the tank to get first dibs on the upcoming food. They coasted along, moving their dorsal fins at a leisurely pace. The larger one followed the smaller one for hours. Cute!

I worked in nightclubs last summer
It was one of the hardest experiences. Second hardest would be putting up with Parisians for a long cold winter (2000).
Guys put their hands on me. They pushed my camera down. They blamed me for spilling their drinks. They thought I had to talk with them and amuse them. People were beyond disrespectful. I was mostly shooting in Southampton. Some of the pictures below show certain types that I expected to see on a regular basis. More nightclub pics are on flickr.com. Click on the pic.
